I really liked the idea of the warm weather package that has a solar panel in the sunroof and runs a fan to cool the cabin while the car is parked. My problem: I didn't want to pay for a sunroof or the warm weather package.
I would like to buy a solar cell and mount it on the back shelf of my A4 to power the fan.
My question: Does anyone know if the regular heating/cooling fan is the one used in
the warm weather package or is it another one mounted elsewhere? Where is the solar cell hooked up? What is the power rating required? Any help would be appreciated.

..a unit that you put in the side window (window rolled up to hold it in place). It has solar cells built in and a fan and vent system to circulate air through the cabin. Sounds like this might suit you, no? If I come across it, I'll post here. HTH.
CraigB

The Audi system is pretty complex and the A4 is probably not wired or set up for the mod. It would be big bucks.

It's probably a different fan. Solar cells are not very efficient and you'd probably need one the size of the hood to run the interior fan.
There would also probably be problems integrating it with the automatic climate control electronics which control the fan speed.
I've seen aftermarket units which fit in a side window. You roll the window up to hold it in place and it has it's own solar cell on the inside facing out the window.
