took my car down to my friend's shop today to have an exhaust installed and he suggested that i get front and rear sway bars as well. now, i'm quite a novice when it comes to aftermarket parts and about the only thing i know about sway bars is that it helps handling or something.
i have a 1.8t tip w/ neuspeed chip and i really do love to take corners hard. can anyone out there give me some advice as to whether adding sway bars would help? would i actually feel the difference? problem is that since it's not a visual upgrade like an exhaust, there better be some performance enhancements to justify spending dollars on.
Sway bars helps significantly with body roll on hard cornering, but a lot of people on this board have taken them off of their cars temporarily. Seems the rear bar are a little too stiff for the mounts/subframe or it's hitting the uplinks. If you look in the Racing archives about a month ago, you'll see all the posts.
I've taken them off until I hear from Neuspeed or others on this board, but I REALLY REALLY miss them.
No, it's not a visual upgrade, but for the money that you spend, at least it improves something more substantial than looks (ie blue lightbulb, stickers etc.)
Drew
