I just got back from my Three Rivers Motorcars where I had my 5000 mile service done on my 1.8T, and other than the usual stuff I also had my remote range remedied and it is awesome now; and AHHHHHH what a relief that is. It was very embarassing to have a car of this caliber and have the worst remote range I have ever seen but now I can churp with the best of them.
Jake
On an un-Audi note: The M Coupe in person is simply stunning and I definitely love it's, love it or hate it styling.

I called and asked for the remote fix, told them I was bringing Mobil 1 and asked about the control module reprogram. Quoted $29 (1/2 hr) for the reprogram and I said OK.
Got a Jetta loaner when I dropped off my A4. After I thought about it, I called back and cancelled the remote reprogram. When the service tech called to tell me the car was done, he said that they missed the note to cancel the reprogram so it would be free!
When I pick up the car, I check to see how much Mobil 1 is left from the six-pack - it's not even opened. I check the service order and sure enough it says "MobilOne in the trunk". Now I'm pissed BUT I did get the reprogram free.
They agree to drain the 15W-40 oil and put in the Mobil 1 (an extra 20 minutes). An hour after I get home, I check the oil level and it's 3/8"-1/2" above the MAX bend in the dipstick. I find they only used 4 qts of the Mobil 1 so I figure I've got WELL over 1/2 qt. of their oil and my synthetic.
I would normally just go back to the dealer in the morning but I have an out-of-town appt. early tomorrow.
My question: Is synthetic as prone to "whip-up" as regular oil? Am I being overly cautious or do I have a real problem?

Thanks for any advice,
JayF 1.8Tqms
