How are you guys handling service and warranty issues. Are you getting an extra ECU and chipping that one, switching them out when going in for service?

You just make friends with your local VW/Audi techs and service like I did!!! Then they know everything you have, and don't care...That is one of the major reasons I bought my Audi. Parts at cost, hookups on service, knowing the right people. It helps tremendously!!!

The dealer never caught my last chip, and the way neuspeed handles the chip, it is hard to detect, the only real way, is that the chip allows you to go over redline, the ECU will record that, that can be a tip off

... in the first place nothing ever broke. These cars are very well made. Unless you really beat the crap out of it you shouldn't break anything.

Personally I take responsibility for my mods. Should something have broken I would have told the service guys that "If you determine that the failure is a result of my mods then I would expect to pay for it. That's fair, right?". That will diffuse many issues since then it's their call. The last thing you want is to create an adversarial relationship with the folks that service your car.

Then again the folks at my the shop I use "are" very reasonable, and afterall, they all want my repeat business too, so they're inclined to try to do their best to keep me happy!

We all know that it can void the warranty but has anyone really experienced it?

eachy "voided" S4 warranty issue I can recall was only in the situation where the turbo's failed. I have brought my car in with the chip, exhaust, etc.. with no problem. If something goes wrong, then expect trouble.
