View Full Version : When it's cold out, do you idle then go, or just go? jms 10-14-1999, 03:07 PM MikeSS 10-14-1999, 06:50 PM when you pick one of the extra-charge colors.... Geoff 10-15-1999, 04:57 PM My pelican blue avant 2.8 order was placed in August, supposed to get it in December-January. We'll see... (Dealer says it's in C status and should be in production in the next week or two). Past impatient... :-) WO 11-08-1999, 01:39 PM Temps been hitting the low 30's lately and was just wondering whether you should let the car idle for a minute or so before going or if it's alright to just start up and go (and just take it slow (under 2500rpms)) until the temp needle hits middle? TomF 11-08-1999, 01:56 PM Keith 11-08-1999, 03:17 PM just go once oil pressure us up (two seconds). The worst time for wear on an engine is when it is not up to temp (except, of course, cold start). The fastest way to get it up to temp is to drive it. Keep the RPM's low and get the car warmed up ASAP.
