Hi Everybody (I am new to this forum) - I just got my brand new 2003 A4 last week. The sales guy told me that I should get this clear coat - that they paint over and inside the car. The brochure he gave me called it "The Protector". Priced at $500. Can someone explain what exactly this is and if it's worth it?

See page 226 of '02 owner's manual ('03 should be similar): Vehicle Care > Body cavity sealing and Chassis sections. Your dealer's stuff is known otherwise here as Diamond Kote. It's another ploy for the dealer to make money at your expense and contradicts manufacturer's specifications. Better to use your money on performance-enhancing mods. ;-)
