Mount the turbo timer in your cupholder slot. The cupholder is poorly placed anyway, if your drink spills your stero and climate control wear the sticky mess.

Go to a VW parts counter, get yourself a Passat dual cupholder that mounts to the transmission tunnel on the passenger side. Screw it in.

The only problem you have now is that your turbo timer's display is green not red :()

I noticed the other day two red lights that sit inset to the overhead console right in front of the sunroof control in my '00 A4. They look sorta like chirstmas tree lights and they put off a red glow on anything near them. Does anyone know what these do or why the are there???

They're designed to cast a red ambient glow in the cockpit at night. I wish the '98s had them.

They are really easy to install. It took me about ... 1/2 hour to do it. I got 2 LEDs, a resistor, a diode, and followed Stanj's instructions. I went with 2 LEDs so I get a better disspersion in the cabin. I actually like mine better. Unlike the 99.5s which aims them on directly on the console... I have ambinent light from just shy of the console all the way back to the arm rest, from the middle of the driver seat to the middle of the passenger seat. I can actually see things I have in the arm rest compartment.

Since the remodeling of A4.org a few months ago, the link disappeared. But it's still on my home page.

Good luck,

but you may not be able to see your hand reaching for either of these. Same with the gear shift, although it is easier to feel than the radio/climate consoles. It is a nice touch.
