Popped the hood today to check the oil level and fluid (4,094k).....and there was no washer fluid at all. Anybody else with this problem?

not see any visible washer fluid? Some people have had leaks, but often, if you're not getting a warning light in the car, then the remaining fluid is just all down in the lower reservoir.

I didn't get any type of low fluid warning, but there's no visible fluid in the tank. Could they have just filled up the lower tank?

it isn't visible in the upper tank. The upper part is pretty small and doesn't hold much - the bottom part is huge though. :)

I guess it just means you have to fill up your washer fluid somemore.

If yes, then you should be concerned that you need to fill it before it's empty. :) Your dealer can do that for free.

If no, then you should be concerned because you may have a leak that your dealer will need to check/fix.

I hardly ever use my washer, yet the level drops quickly. I've heard of there being problems with leaks on the system, yet I have not found any leak on mine. There are times when I can smell washer fluid while the car is parked, but there will be no puddle on the ground nor wet spots on the underside of the car or engine bay. And yes, the cap is on tight so I don't see how I could be losing that much fluid to evaporation. Has anyone else found a leak on the system and if so, where?

The headlight washers (which run with the windshield washers when the lights are on) are activated by a high pressure pump. They consume washer fluid a lot quicker than you would expect. I think that's why they give us such a large resevoir.

Let's put it this way. I'm still on my original fill up of washer fluid from when I got the car in January. I used my headlight washers maybe 10 times, and my windshield has been sprayed probably about 25 times throughout the winter and less occasionally during the spring and summer, and still haven't come close to empty yet.

I thought the headlight washers were only activated when the level is held for a slightly extended period of time. Are you sure they would always operate when the lights are on? Even though windshield is washed with only short bursts?

about a second or two before the headlights start getting sprayed. If the car is moving at a decent speed, you can tell me they're being sprayed by the mist that flies back from them.

Yet I've added over 1 gallon of fluid to the system since I got the car in May. The reservoir was full when I took delivery of it. The first time that I noticed the upper bottle was empty I also noticed the cap was not on tight (the cap is rather cheap-looking and fitting IMO) I filled the bottle and made sure the cap was on right (I attributed the quick loss and smell that I had to the loose cap). A month or so passed and I noticed that it was empty again, yet I'd only used the windhield washer sparingly and never used the headlight washer (And I continued to smell fluid every once and awhile). What gives?
