They had a beautiful silver one (2000) with the options I was interested in, but not really willing to talk price.
Much more flexible on the 99.5, obviously.

View Full Version : Three week wait for oil change! Dennis 10-16-1999, 01:39 PM They had a beautiful silver one (2000) with the options I was interested in, but not really willing to talk price. Much more flexible on the 99.5, obviously. nats 11-08-1999, 07:57 AM My dealer (Park Audi in Lawrence, MA) wants me to wait three weeks for a lousy oil change. Is this a common practice with Audi dealers or what? I guess since the service is free, they want to make it as inconvenient as possible so that I will take it somewhere else. Either that or they are really busy fixing broken Audis and Porches which, is a scary thought! Jan 11-08-1999, 08:04 AM Frank B 11-08-1999, 08:35 AM Are the dealers paid by Audi for each service? If so, then they are probably just busy as they will make money when you bring it in. Shabbis 11-08-1999, 08:36 AM Jon 11-08-1999, 08:50 AM there will be waits. If you live in a populated area without a lot of dealers, yes, you will wait. If you want walk up service, go to Jiffy Lube and have the Monkey Lads making $7/hour change the oil. If you want it for your warranty, you have to make an appointment. Trust me, they aren't just sitting there with empty bays saying "let's screw the Audi Advantage people." They're BUSY! I'll bet if you call up with a complaint about the sunroof, they'll bring you in the same time ... three weeks. And I'm pretty sure Audi is aware of it. I called them to have my warranty period extended past 50,000 miles. I wanted a few things looked at, under warranty, but had to wait 4 weeks to have a dealer look it over. Audi was very understanding (and even apologetic). If you go back 5 years, there just weren't that many Audis selling. Now, with Audis popularity, everyone is in for scheduled and unscheduled service. But the service departments have not re-organized to handle the current # of Audis. So we're forced to wait... - Josh - '98 A4q 2.8 - '72 911T mike in methuen 11-08-1999, 01:30 PM |
