Has anyone else been annoyed by the lousy little , ineffective hooks for hanging your suit jackets etc on? They are just not deep enough to hang clothes on reliably!
Any alternatives?

When I took one of the A4's to the dry cleaners, I always got my shirts boxed, and they went in the rear passenger footwell.

For my jackets and suitclothes, I have them on hangars and bagged, then lay them carefully in the trunk for the short drive home.

Now, in some cities, including Chicago and Seattle, there are services you can hire to come once a week and delivery your dress clothing back to you. They also do silk, nylon, Coolmax, rayon or nylon polo jerseys, riding clothes, and other things that cannot be easily laundered in the household. We now use one of these services, and given the time saved the charges are reasonable.

I always use the rear passenger handles above the doors - the clothes don't hang exactly straight, but you can load them up.

I suppose one could design a hook with a half twist and a ring to do it properly.

and haven't been able to find a good service anywhere close to home. I'm willing to give delivery a try.

There's one in Bellevue that a few people I know use, "Gold Service Laundry", so that's one to give a try to. Might be one closer to you, don't know...

I'm primarily in Chicago nowadays, so I'm doing laundry there. Great service there is Clark Garment Services, and they also do leather repair...

socks when transporting them in their Audis? Maybe we should create a poll to determine the differences between 2.8 and 1.8T users and possibly include the European 2.4 and 1.8 non-T since they are not as hygenically anal as us Americans.

BTDT, big time. I hang up my sportcoat every day. Here's the deal:

Use a plastic, curved suit hanger for your coat. The hook will not hold a coat or shirt *without a hanger* -- it's not designed to, nor is it in any car I've ever seen. I have a hanger which matches my ecru interior; I tuck it in the seat-back pocket when not in use. The sculpted "knee curves" on the back of the seat help it fit in that pocket pretty well. I also put a small mark w/Magic Marker on the rubber door gasket to help locate the hook without stooping.

For short-term use you can put a couple shirt hangers on the grab handle, but I wouldn't want to do it every day or put a lot of weight on it.

I get all my shirts and cotton pants laundered; usually I'm picking up eight or nine shirts and pants a week. Cameron is right -- lay them flat and forget about hanging them. I have an Avant so I have plenty of room in the back.
