View Full Version : Anyone else miss the old two-tone interior 'atmospheres'? ...

I am definitely considering replacing my '99 A4 with an '02 when my lease expires and love most of what I see. However, I will miss my two-tone onyx/ecru interior. Dash, doors and center console are onyx (black), while seats, headliner, upper A, B and C pillars, armrest, and upper door handle inserts are ecru (beige). It's a sharp combination. My friend's A4 has a similar interior in the ambiente atmosphere, but with deep blue instead of onyx. Perfectly compliments the santorin blue exterior. In contrast, the '02 interiors are all monochrome. I am beginning to appreciate the unique elegance of this color scheme, but it does tend to suggest luxury to me rather than that 'concept-car' sporty flair.

Anyone hear anything about Audi intending to broaden the interior color combination offerings for the new A4 in the future? As I recall, atmospheres weren't added until the '98 model year, two model years after the first-generation A4 hit our U.S. shores.
