Jay 4R 10-23-2001, 07:08 AM Any clarification? pzero man 10-23-2001, 07:09 AM Ralphie 10-23-2001, 07:24 AM Jay 4R 10-23-2001, 07:36 AM A friend and I went to look at the car this past weekend... The car we looked at had Xenons, and they weren't listed on the sticker or invoice... so when we spoke to the dealer, I asked if they were standard (again, because they weren't listed on the optional equipment column on the sticker), and he said yes... "They all come with them standard..." was what he said... However the brochure says differently and so do the people here, so far... Dealer full of sh*t? daytontp 10-23-2001, 08:44 AM The spec sheet says: Standard: "Aerodynamic 2-way ellipsoid projector headlamp assembly with VF (Variable Focus) reflectors, integrated low beam and high beam tubes." Optional: "Xenon headlights with automatic self leveling." The 2002 A4 1.8TQM I saw on Sunday did not have Xenon's. But the lamp/reflector assembly was exactly the same as the Xenon assembly on a 2002 A6 3.0Q (aside from the size of the housing, maybe), that was sitting next to it in the showroom here in town. The sperical glass lense over the Xenon bulb is the same shape and size as that of the non-Xenon bulb. With the lights turned off, I do not think you can tell the difference. BTW - The dealer here in town told me the same thing, and then he tried to say the lights on the A6 were better than the ones on the A4. Confusing himself maybe. Then he turned the lights on the 2 cars and showed me, then I could tell the difference when I looked at the color the light puts out. The Xenon's are Blue and the Non-Xenon are White. I could easily see the difference in the color of the light, as it was shining on the wall inside the dealership. I was already aware of the color difference before I went into the showroom.
