I have a 98.5 1.8T and want to upgrade the exhaust. Any suggestions?
I am not crazy about having a loud noise everytime I step on the gas but am interested in performance and looks as well as maybe a slight increase in the noise. What type of exhaust is on the current featured car?
Where do I find this? Is there a website?
By the way, how is the exhaust? Is it too loud? How much?
Thanks!

If its an MTM/Hoppen exhaust, it'll cost about $1800usd. I asked them about their Stage 2 upgrade a few days ago, and thats the approximate price of the exhaust. HTH!
-steve
98.5 1.8tqm

I can speak from experience on the Klasse exhaust. The sound is a bit more than stock at idle, more of a rumble. As the rev's increase the tone is a muted "drone" (to use the hoppen description) that is at it's loudest at 2500rpm under load. There is little to no noise difference when maintaining a constant speed. The system costs much less than the others listed here and I'm pretty sure that the warranty is the same. My brother owns a shop here in the Tampa Bay area and if you would like more info feel free to contact me at the above e-mail add.
Stephan
98 1.8tqms (Klasse, .8bar)
I have a Remus on my 30v. It sounds just about exactly the same as stock at idle. Partial throttle at lower rpm's produces a deeper (not much louder)tone than stock. Acceleration over 4500 rpm produces more of a snarl. The sounds it produces are all pleasing to the ear.
Mike
