Spent an hour scraping grease/dirt from the inside of my pansenger side wheel. Found a 1" long gash at the largest diameter of the boot. Replace the boot or the whole thing?
On a positive note, finally installed the painted mirror cover....I gots mad painting skills yo. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

the amount you pay in labor to change the cv boot you can get a whole new axle.
Pulling the axle isn't that hard

Lot's of places that rebuild them will install them and warrant them starting at $90 a side complete.

Your joint may not be clicking yet, but there could still be some wear, depending on how long your boot has been torn, so just put in a rebuilt drive axle.
Trust me, it's less laborious than just doing a boot.

trick is to get the hub carrier out of the way to remove the axle/CV. Shouldn't be a problem since I've already done my uppers once.
