My girlfriend and I will be in the Orlando area this upcoming Valentine's day. It has come to the point in our relationship, where I must empty my walet, and ask that big question...
She loves the beach and living in Colorado, she's definitely looking forward to this trip. So I thought it would be appropriate to make my move at the beach. I've been doing some research on the florida beaches (Fort De Soto, Caladesi) but was hoping to get advice on a location that is not too crowded, has a good view of the sunset, and possibly a nice place to dine afterwards.
We should be ok with driving a couple hours from orlando, but I dont want to exhaust her for the moment. If you could throw out some advices, I would very much appreciate it.
Many Thanks

Windsong Charters in Tampa specializes in proposal cruises. I was going to go that route and had convinced my gf that I was looking to purchase the boat and we were going to go on a test cruise. The charter company even played along and sent fake emails about the purchase etc.
Congratulations!

city was listed on a travel brochure as a popular honeymoon place. I might try heading that way for a nice location.
Thanks again

These are all within 1 hours trip. I heard that Sarasoto--Destin and places in between are absoulutely incredible. My pick for a beach and something nice to eat--probably Cocoa and or Melbourne Beach...Laid back and some nice people running around..Easy roads to Orlando...I usually make it to Melobourne in about 1.23 hours..THats all the way to the A1A off Eua Gallie Blvd.

I was hoping to do the intimate 'just the two of us' thing, not really into the big show in front of strangers...
But thanks for the info, perhaps we can go back there on another night.
thanks

There is nothing ,I mean nothing out there.Plus it's like 3+ hour drive. I'm probably going to take the motorhome out there next month for a few days though.Talk about secluded.

The Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach has a very good restaurant, fancy rooms and an amazing sunset view.
You might want to hit the (almost deserted!) North Beach @ Fort Desoto, then drive to St. Pete Beach for food, etc. it's only about 10 minutes away. The view of the Don when coming from the Bayway (the way you'd come from Ft. Desoto) is magnificent.
