still thinking about acquiring the newer mainboard for my laptop. More processor and better video in the later G600's

laptops are cheap these days. Gonna cost you somme big $$$ for a mainboard swap.

considering I got an OEM replacement through gateway (which cost and arm, leg, and half of my right testicle) due to a power supply issue....I'm willing to bet a "used" mainboard with a 2.2Ghz processor (from 1.6) and Radeon 9000 (from R7500) will be slightly less from a 3rd party. I think the total cost for the main board from Gateway was somewhere just shy of $300

probably exceed the thermal limits of the fans and heatsinks.

the chassis are the same, same fans, same heat syncs, etc, etc.
