but driving down US1 to the city of St. Aug, the drainage ditches are full up and it was still pouring. A1A N into Ponte Vedra was pooling water, but driveable in the Jetta.
I think we are about 10 miles north of where Charley dumped heavy rains. Skin of our teeth. I slept through it all, but my bro says the wind was howling a bit at 2:30 am.
My parents live in Venice but were on vacation. They have no idea how their apartment is but my dad's office (AAA) in Port Charlotte is destroyed. They were already on vacation in NYC when Charley hit.
God bless all of those still without power. I hear some parts of Orlando will be without for up to 10 days.
Send a little extra to the Red Cross, guys, they need it.
