Nancy... go to http://www.kbb.com
Take a look at the new Audi prices equipped the way you want one... my experience is you can do a heck of a lot better than what you have posted on a new 99.5... For kicks kelly Blue Book also posts used car prices that will at least provide you with a reference point to use on the two cars you are looking at... both prices sound kind of steep for used A4's...

Nancy,
I just picked up a 99 2.8 Quattro/manual/sport/bose/sunroof
in beautiful Sable Brown Pearl/onix-ecru letherette...for $29.5K with only 100 miles.
Persoanlly, I would be very reluctant of getting a 99 A4 with more than 200-300 miles, why?
because you don't know how the cars have been driven, especially during break in..
I don't know, but that's just my opinion...
good luck,
AndyC
99 2.8QMS (100 more miles 'till I come out of my break in shell!!)

She's getting automatic and leather. That adds over $2000 to the price you paid, so if you tack ont he mileage, she's getting around the same deal as you did.

I posted below to your first question about the cars. I think it's a good deal, especially for what you would be paying for a new one. I just bought a new one and know. You would still be getting a 2 year factory warranty, and relatively low mileage on a '99. I would go for it.

I picked up a 99.5 2.8QMS with 700 miles on it for $29.5. I say go for it. I really wouldn't concern myself with the mileage that much, but then again mine was less than a 1000 miles.

I would think with the new models already in, getting a 99 deal shouldn't be that hard - I know the dealer by me has a couple sitting in their lot, ready to go. Andy makes a great point about the break-in period; you just don't know how well the the car was broken in. I sold my 1996 A4 2.8 because there were some minor problems that could become more of a problem down the road. The car was in great shape, and maybe I was over-reacting just a bit, but I desided to by a new A4 Avant(I bought the 96 used). I would first look for a new 99 before buying a used one - saving yourself a coulpe thousand (if that) now might mean more headaches down the road. Oh, have you asked why the cars are for sale? Good luck in whatever you do. - Mike
Ps My A4 is coming next week, and I'm very excited about it, but very concerned with the break-in period...
