Saw an S4 exiting I-40 at Winston-Salem, NC on Saturday! I was in my minivan (blush) when this guy comes up behind me flashing, in this beige-like European car and in my rearview mirror, I can't tell what it is. I move over, he blows by me (justifiably) and I couldn't beleive my eyes. Even my wife (a non-enthusiast) was taken aback. It was BEAUTIFUL!! Can anybody confirm this "sighting" ?<br>

How do you know that it was an S4 and not a modified A4? What did you notice about it?

It may have been a test car for emissions. Audi has the TT here for this reason right now. I drove one provided by Audi at the Nurburgring Grand Prix Course in Germany 2 weeks ago. They let me drive the old S2 first and then the S4. The S4 was the most amazing car I have ever driven. This car is almost 911 fast with its 6 speed gear box. I felt absolutely no turbo lag from the twin turbos. The S4 punches you in the back from 1500 rpm all the way to the red line. We won't see the S4 until next Fall. This is one car that really holds the road, even in a downpour. The S4 is FAST FAST and FAST!!

Hard to tell in the micro second that I had to look at it. I had plenty of time to look at the back end. Had the S4 badge. Color was definitely not an Ausi color I've seen and most modified A4's I've seen (all) still retain factory paint colors. Also, front end was similar to the pics. <br>Non-S4 specifics were a small rear spoiler, different wheel/tires (probably +2) and it seemed a bit more rounded. I honestly didn't recognize it as an Audi until I saw the circles on the trunk lid and the S4 badge...and I can usually pick out an A4 from afar.<br>
