hopefully pretty soon i'll be going with some koni or bilstein shocks for my 02 a4 and i got ripped off my dealer on a spring install a while back and will not be using them again to get ripped off again...
does anyone know of a good place in the south florida area for installing shocks that won't mess up the autoleveling sensors (heard you need to be careful with those) oh and also that will work at a good rate...
thanks in advance
auto leveling snesors? hows it auto level if you have regular shocks?
perhaps it is a snesor for sensing suspension angle to give input to a TCS?
$122 each locally...no shippping for bilstein HD's or Sports...can do it in my driveway, as i have impact tools so it shouldnt take too long...then i would make 2 trips to work to use the wall-mounted spring compressor...reinstall, then you would be on your well-handling way :)
*EDIT* i looked my parts diagram, and the 02' Quattro rear suspension you done even have to compress the spring...3 bolts hold the shock on....

the autoleveling sensors from the xenons which if not properly put back on cause the auto-level feature to not work and the error message on the dash i think..

i think i actually found bilsteins online for 450 total so like 112.50 (shipping was expensive) but anyway where do you work that has all of those tools
and i work at pepboys (DONT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE) that has the spring compressor...
i have these tools because i maintain the cars for the family....nothing EVER goes to a shop....
everything from engine rebuilds to brakes to timing belts to suspension...
the ONLY thing i have to do elsewhere is the alignment (i use the rack at work, and do it myself) and tires (thoes done myself too and balancing)
i looked up the sensors (they were under headlights, not suspension) and theres nothing special about them....they shouldnt even have to be removed....i am SURE of this for the rear, the front may have to be removed, but more than likely not...even if so, they are only held to the control arm by 1 screw....and a little metal arm that connects to the snesor body on the car itself...
i put the shocks and springs on my 90 Quattro, my dad's B5 Passat...very easy to do...only need common hand tools for most of it...
what you need done is bread & butter for me :)
