Clean the surface you want to apply to, cut the dynamat to fit, remove the backing, and stick it on. Push on it or use a roller to ensure good contact.
Dynamat will smell like fresh apshault for a few weeks (or months) once it starts to get real hot out and "melt" to the surface.
I had some old Cascade products that I put on 1 door, then got lazy and never did the rest. Cascade isn't asphault based, but vinyl based, so it doesn't smell like the Dynamat does for the initial periods.

would this help more? What version of the product to use?
Get yourself a pair of Mechanix gloves, a wooden roller, and tin snips. Cut the sheet to the size you need, peel off the paper backing, and roller it into place.
