View Full Version : Hmmm, should I order a new A4 with the new PREMIUM sport package, or just get RS4 replica wheels?

For 2004 (this fall delivery), the A4s are finally coming with painted lowers....and you can get the regular sports package (17" rims & suspension like Joel), or premium sports package. The premium package comes with 18" RS4 type rims, and the factory body kit (front & rear bumper lip spoilers & a trunk lip spoiler). The Premium sports package costs $2K more than regular sports package.

SO, I am thinking if we order a B6 A4 for Breeze, we are just going with the regular sports package, then buying a set of 18" RS4 replica rims and tires for the car, then sell the OEM 17" sports package rims.

Regular Sports package: $900
18" RS4 replica rims and tires: $1400
Sell 17" sport rims and tires: -$700
TOTAL: $1600

$1600 vs. the $2950 premium package...half price but no body kit...which I don't think I need anyway (maybe just the rear trunk lip spoiler).

Here's what the permium package body kit looks like:

And here are the lovely RS4 replica rims:

And I have seen that kit installed on an A4 at the dealer....and it looks HORRIBLE. I say horrible because if you do the dealer installed kit, it actually goes OVER the existing front and rear lower bumpers....so it fits horribley (not the installers fault, but the kit manufacturing fault). BUT, if you order this package, it is a whole bumper unit, so fit is perfect.

So, I would only do the rear trunk lip spoiler.

It would be cheaper now, than the difference you're talking about, and it wou;dm't be as good quality o fa paint job and potentially not a 100% match.

That could be the best looking factory A4 ever. Plus, by buying the wheels from audi as a pkg, you can finance the cost vs. coming up with $1500 for wheels.

If you get the wheels separately, make sure you get factory caps as in my sig and not the ghetto caps on Josh's S4.

So at most I will probably just get her sport package with 18" RS4 rims. She probably doesn't care about the body kit.

Anyway....19s are crazy.
