I am looking to get a nitro boat. I have been told that a .12 mono would be fun and relatively cheap.
I already have all the radio gear from my Losi that I can use, so an RTR isn't really an option.

.12 is pretty small for nitro, but it probably moves out a little boat on water. You can get a .12 or .15 motor (small block) for $100.
Boat motors go up to .60, thats a big as bitch of a motor for an R/C boat.

The boat only weighs 3 lbs, so it should move. But I haven't been able to find much about it online.

Probably get some good info there.
I have a .21 engine in my 1/8 buggy. Something ~10 lbs and it moves that thing to 50mph easy. A .18 in a 3lb skimming across water is probably 80-90mph

http://www.rcuniverse.com</a

Was running it all through a Novak speedo. Well, it over heated, the speedo fried and the boat went full speed into the dock I was standing on, flipped ... and sank.
yeah i love boats
Friend has/had a 50+" Dumas hydroplane (I'll have to ask him if he still has it). Pretty nice, but I have yet to see it run.

I cannot find anywhere on the web that lists the kyosho's speed. The megatech supposedly does 35+ right out of the box.
