I have the code, but entered it wrong twice (Ok, I was driving while doing it...). Now I can't get it off of safe mode. I tried leaving it on for an hour... A trip to the dealer, and they told me I needed to pay them $120 for a new (used) radio, there was no way to input the code. They HAD the code (same as the one I had), but couldn't get it out of SAFE II mode to enter it!!! any help.

I have a 96 A4 Quattro that just came off warranty and I would like to gain access to how-to info for basic periodic maintenance and minor repairs as they come up. I usually purchase "shop manual" from Helm ($60 for a phonebook-size book with all that I need to know).

Helm doesn't have them. DDS has a 21 volume set for $400 (ouch! seems like over kill). Haynes hasn't made one yet, no one knows if/when will be available (if they decide to make write one should be one large volume @ approx. $100... seems about right)

Does anyone know of other sources?
