View Full Version : '98 1.8T 1. Soft Feeling Brakes and 2. Rough Ignition

1. OEM rotor and brakes replaced with OEM rotor and brakes. Still, after couple thousand miles the brakes don't seem to have that grab. My other audi, an '01, has Mintex pads and they seem to heat up quicker and grab crisp in comparison. Might replace the '98's pads with Mintex. Feedback appreciated.

2. Saturday: Wash car, park car in garage. Monday morning start car to go to work and I'm greeted with super rough idling and the check engine light goes on for a couple days and then goes off. Seems like it's running smoothly now, but has anyone had this type of experience?

I much preferred the initial grabbiness of OEM pads as compared to my Mintex, but the dust production on the mintex compared to OEM is worth the slightly softer initial pedal.
