I may have a source for chips for the Hitachi ECU on the 96 6cyl. A-4. If you have an interest please E-mail me ronalusa@ronalusa.com.
I'd like to get a head count as to how many of you would like an additional 15-20hp w. a chip!

Gary's been to Germany so I figured he'd know what I meant. It's one of the few sentences I can remember (used frequently by travelers) and I even screwed that up!
I first said "How many does it cost?" but I meant to say "How much does it cost?"
So much for my minor in German. If you don't use it, you do lose it!
-Cathleen

Ich werde wieder, in kurze Zeit, nach Deutschland auf der Messe in Essen, sein. Veilleicht kann ich dir ein Kleinichkeit mitbringen, etwas fur dem Gehirn von Wagen?? Gerhard.

Cathleen knows a little German and drives a great car. In that sense she is beautiful. Gary (Gerhard), in a short while, is going to be back in Essen,Germany, where he has offered to bring Cathleen a "little something" for the brain of her car.
Ausgezeichnet!
Stefan

Das war ja fast fehlerfrei. Nur wissen wir noch immer nicht wieviel der Chip kostet und wie lange der Einbau dauert. Bitte um Erleuchtung.
Mike (now in Germany)

Danke sehr viel fuer Ihr Kompliment. Leider ist mein Deutsch ziemlich hoffnungslos.
Ich muss betruegen, indem ich ein Verzeichnis verwende. Es ist 10 Jahre gewesen, da Kollege und ich nicht praktizieren haben. (????)
Auf Englisch:
I have a few questions about the chip. I know you probably can't divulge any real secrets but as you know, we are working on increasing the flow of my 12v because we have found that a chip alone for the normally aspirated engines cannot produce very much benefit. Since you estimate it to be a gain of 15-20hp (which is very good)....what, if any additional modifications to increase airflow, compression, etc. are necessary to obtain these numbers? Of course, I am interested in the possibilty of having a chip added to the upgrades list for the 12v. I would be interested to know how much money and whether it is dyno-proven on stock or upgrades of internal mods.
I understood most of your German without TOO much trouble. Brain of the Car! ECU :) BTW, Gerhard...I knew you were a true Kraut! Are you from Deutschland or second generation, etc.? My Mom is Irish, hence Cathleen....Dad is the Kraut!
-Cathleen
P.S. Anyone know how to do umlauts on MS Windows/Word ('95)?

I' bin ein echter Bayer, von der gegend von Muenchen. Ein Bayer ohne Bier ist ein gegaerliches Tier. Dess muss mann wissern wenn einer ein echter Bayer ist!!
I'll let everyone know more about the chip when I've tried it. "I like to be used". GA.

Even though many of German friends say I speak German with a Bavarian accent, I just lived there for a couple of years. I'm an American born midwesterner with 1/32nd real German blood.
I think of myself as ein Deutscher sometimes in a sense of longing for a time in my past that was very enjoyable even though it was all work (except for 42 days holidays and vacations in one year I was there).
Clair
