Welp it's looking like I'm gonna get a set of 18" SL's in Silver. I got quoted a cost for 17's with Kumho 712 in 225/45/17 and 18s with Kumho 712 in 225/40/18 and the difference in cost is only $344, for fully mounted and balanced.
So.. what the hell right, get the 18s?
Anyways, should I stick with a 225/40/18 tire or go for a 235? Again, concern is rubbing . Just thinking I might get a little extra curb protection with the 235. Speedo difference is only 1% between those 2 sizes.

And on an 8" wide wheel, I wouldn't go much wider than a 225. I actually like the stretched profile of a 225 on an 8.5" wide wheel. When I get my new 8" wide wheels (still not sure), I think I might go 215 to maintain that appearence (they're for the street yo).

$319 ea for 18x8, but you cant get them, because then you'll be trying to be like me yo :/
They have superturismos and superleggeras in silver, same prices for either.

Any range for most tires are 215mm - 255mm. With a 225mm tire generally being the accepted size.

10mm is less than half an inch so the profile of a 215 on an 8" wide wheel will not be quite as 'stretched' as a 225 on an 8.5" wide wheel. Eddie @ Tire Rack said you could run a 215 on an 8.5" wide wheel so you should also be able to run a 205 on a 8" wide wheel. It would look really stretched and probably not be good for the tires. I will more than likely run a 215 on the 8s.
