Quattro Club of Florida February Update

Hello all.....this is going to be a very busy couple of months for us; we have a lot of events planned in addition to our monthly meetings.

In this update:
-February meeting; 2/8
-Suncoast Audi Alley Corral at the 12 Hours of Sebring; 3/15-3/16
-Winter Treffen Audi/VW car show; 2/17
-Roebling Road Driver's School; 3/3-3/5

FEBRUARY MEETING:
Our February monthly meeting is set for the 9th at 2pm at Kelseys Pizzeria.

SUNCOAST AUDI ALLEY CORRAL AT THE 12 HOURS OF SEBRING:
Sign up for the Audi Alley Corral at the 12 Hours of Sebring will begin today, Tuesday, February 5th. I have once again reserved our usual corral location, as well as the 20'x30' tent in the corral. Cost for this year's corral is going to be $10 per car for Quattro Club USA members, and $20 for non-members. The club will be providing drinks on Friday and Saturday. You are welcome to camp in the corral again this year, and if you don't have a tent, there will be plenty of room in the 20'x30' tent that we will have in the corral. We will also be selling 12 Hours of Sebring Audi Alley Corral T shirts for $15 each. I should have them ready to go by the end of February.

Suncoast Audi and Quattro Club USA are the sponsors of this year's event. This corral is the highlight of our annual event schedule, so I urge you all to join us. Space will be limited to 50 cars, and registration cost will increase by $10 for anyone who signs up after February 25th. I need as many of you as possible to sign up as soon as possible starting on February 5th. If you have any questions, please call me at 407-657-2479. I will be sending a separate email with the Audi Alley registration form and additional information on the race.

WINTER TREFFEN SHOW:
Sunday, February 17th is the annual 1552 Design Treffen VW and Audi show. If you are not familiar with 1552 Design, they are a VW/Audi tuner in Sarasota that has been around for years up north, and moved their operations to Florida 2 years ago. This annual show brings together Audis and VWs from all across the Southeast for a day of cars, tech discussions, food, and engine modifying. There will be over 250 VWs and Audis in attendance, and there will be some car judging with cash prizes for all sorts of classes of VWs and Audis. APR will be at the event chipping cars while you wait, and showing off some of their newest products. The magazines Eurotuner, European Car, VW Trends, and Performance VW will all be there covering the event, so be sure to put an extra coat of wax on your car to help your chances of being on the cover. This event is sponsored by Audiworld, VWVortex, and our good friend Chris Welty from Suncoast Audi/VW/Porsche.

The Winter Treffen begins on Saturday, February 16th for a drag night at the DeSoto speedway. So far I have heard little interest form the club in attending the drag races on Saturday, so we will instead just attend the car show on Sunday morning. We'll all meet at Angel's Diner at the corner of I-4 and Colonial Dr at 7:30am (yes, that early) so that we can make it down for the show opening at 9:30 am. You can get more information on the Winter Treffen at: http://www.1552design.com/

ROEBLING ROAD DRIVERS SCHOOL:
March 3rd - 5th is the annual QCUSA Roebling Road Driver's school. This year's driving school will also be the location of Quattro Club USA annual national board meeting, so it will be a great time to meet all the board members and hear what is in store for the future of the club. If you have not registered yet, there is still time. Just contact Tom Saltino for registration. Info at: http://www.quattroclubusa.org/R/SER/roeblinginfo/index.htm

OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS:
April: Annual Challenge Road Rally with the Porsche Club
May: Annual Spring picnic at Lakeridge Winery
June: 24 Hours of Lemans party

OTHER NEWS:
-Quattro Club USA will be changing their name to Audi Car Club of North America, and as a result, we will also be changing or name to Audi Car Club of Florida and Audi Car Club of Orlando.

-Suncoast Audi/VW/Porsche in Sarasota is now offering our members discounts on all parts. If you need any Audi parts, please call Chris Welty at Suncoast, he can offer our club members a discount of 20-25% off retail. You can reach Suncoast at 877-923-1700 or at their website: http://www.suncoastmotorsports.com/

Also, Suncoast just received the very last shipment of S4s coming to America. They have a Silver Alcanera S4, and a Black tiptronic S4 Avant.

That's all for now, please help me out by signing up for Sebring ASAP.

being it's a lease and all and I've already got almost 10k miles and I havn't even had it 8 months. It's not looking like my work commutte is gonna get any shorter and I've got a lot of driving around the state the next few months, so the more I can save the better... need to go to the show so APR can reprogram the ECU i'm fixing to buy used.

and then he can just switch between cars whenever he wants. That way Tom won't have to drive all the way up to Orlando to meet us and pick up Evan.

We'll arrange it so we pick up Tom along the way like we did for the Sarasota tech day.
