I'm getting some strange happenings under boost. Sometimes it feels like I have none at all(turbo is spinning cause I can here it yet the car pulls like a GEO Metro). Then a stop light later it pulls hard. I think I'm also getting surging. It happens in first and second gear only during half to three quarter throttle, the car surges forward to where I have to ease up on the throttle.

The first question is do you hear a vibrating or humming sound when you release the gas to shift while under boost?

If you are getting no boost at all and then getting some, it could be the BPV, but it could also be a variety of other things, including your wastegate rod.

Take it in for service, let the experts look at it.

I never really noticed. I did get that growning sound accelerating through 2500 rpm in first and second when the car was new. If I let off the gas to early it dumps, get back on throttle and it takes a sec for it to build boost back up. Still not quite used to drive-by-wire.
