Found someone selling the 17" quattro sport ("celebration") rims. He's basically asking $375 per rim, shipped, with the stock tires which have 700 miles on them. So that's about $275 for just the rim (figuring a Kumho would cost me $100 if I needed to buy my own tires). My only potential worry with the rim is curb rash as the spokes bulk outwards as opposed to inwards ont he real RS4 rim or flush like the 16" 10 spokes. And the biggest problem being that the paint used on those rims is illegal for import in the USA so they can never be fixed backed to factory look. They'd ALL need to be refinished.

For 4 wheels I'm looking at $1500 shipped. I don't know if I want to dish out that kind of cash for a rim I can't easily repair. I can maybe get $800 for all 5 of my 16" wheels with tires I guess.

So I've been thinking, maybe I keep my 16's for now and do something to the body, like get S4 side skirts and rear valance and paint them up along with the stock from bumper lower valance. I don't want an S4 bumper, and the only bumpers I like otherwise require cutting the original bumper, which I don't want to do now. And I kinda like the way the A4 front end looks as it ias anyway. Another option as opposed to the S4 side/rear would be going with someone elses skirts and valance. I'd be looking at, worst case, equal money to doing the wheels.

What do you guys think I should do?

PS - my performance mod plans are to get chipped by APR at Treffen, and perhaps get their cat-back exhaust if the Tip model is ready. If not, I'll probably just wait for it. I'd also be changing out the BPV at the same time.

You can buy a brand new wheel and tire package from Tire Rack for about that much, and not have to worry about curb rash or matching paint. My rims came to me delivered for about $1300 with tires. Not too bad of a deal, and I had them delivered to the dealer and just bought the tech lunch to mount them on my next visit.

The Celebration rims are very very nice....but the paint matching has me a little worried.

I swear we think alike, I want S4 sides, but painted black to clean up the rocker area. Figured if I painted them black I could keep the A4 look, which like you I happen to like. The 17" Quattro sport wheels are very cool. First thing I asked my salesman when I bought my FrontTrak "Hey Joey (thats his name), will those fit my car!". My cousin had the great idea of having all four powder coated (gun metal gray) after they get chewed up. Its not that expensive and will last way longer than the paint.

I paid about 1300 for my 18 inch borbets with khumo tires.. Only thing is, the you are going to have to lower your car, unless you want an A4 allroad or outback :)

As for painting the sides.. I know a great body shop that'll really hook you up if you go in there.. After my accident, I got the s4 bumper put on, and they worked it out so that I only had to pay about $200 for everything changed and painted.. And theres alot more involved in getting the s4 bumper than i thought..

BTW.. whats treffen? is it an event? I want to get chipped to, but dont want to have to be without a car for a couple days while i send out my ecu..

They have a small show, Last year there were maybe 80 cars(???) total and about 15 Audi's.

1552 Design is down near Sarasota. Last year APR was soldiering chips on site. Hoppen Motorsports (MTM) is also in Sarasota.

http://www.1552design.com/</a
