What is the official word on Audi approved upgrades some on the A4 forum have been posting about? Is that really going to happen or was it BS?

These are essentially Eibach "Pro-kit" springs that have an Audi part number on them. They have the same rates as the "aftermarket" spring. The only difference will be that part number. But that part number is the difference when and if you have a warrante issue related to suspension. The springs are not stocked and are ordered directly from Eibach and delivered to the dealer. Audi has a "chip" program in the works as well as upgraded stress bars and shocks. All of which will be outsourced to tuners already producing these parts. Expect to pay a premium over what you would pay if you got it directly from the manufacturer themselves. The up-side, your warrantee will remain intact. Ultimately this will be benificial to those people who's local dealerships are not "MOD" friendly. We on the otherhand are allowed quite a bit of lattitude from our local dealerships when it comes to the aftermarket. Hope this helps... prototypeA4(Tom) 08-23-2001, 02:24 PM Longwolf (Christian) 08-24-2001, 07:55 AM |
