Thought that at 5K miles when I did my first oil change (to 15-50 weight Mobil 1) it ran 25 degrees hotter but wasn't really sure cause I wasn't making a mental note at that time. But now I've confirmed it. I switched to 10-30 oil this weekend and the car is running 25 degrees cooler (200 v 225+ - and the exterior temperature is not a factor)

and I got the car up to operating temperature (30mile drive from my place to the dealership). Anyway, it's just an observation for those interested.

based on their studies. The amount of buildup in the engine was also decresed in the cars. Gas milage also improved. Never had a car that burned oil - longest owned car a 87 Jeep 4.0l that had 150k miles.
