I went to Checker Auto hoping to find either IHG or Blitz wax but they didn't have either so I picked up Megiuar's Deep Crystal System, which consists of a bottle each of cleaner, polish and wax. I skipped the cleaner because my paint's been recently clay-barred, and is plenty clean anyhow.
The polish: Wow. This stuff is simply awesome. It gave my black paint a very deep, rich shine, while making it shades blacker. It was very obvious where you'd applied it. The paint looked like black water, and seemed to take on a depth to it. It also noticibly reduced the number of swirl marks and fine scratches. Very easy to use, and great results. I've never used IHG before and don't know if I ever will while I'm using this stuff.
The Carnuba Wax: I'm not totally sure how a company like Megiuar's can make a really bad wax, but they did here. This stuff does little to add any luster to the paint that the polish hasn't taken care of, and is a genuine PITA to apply. It leaves a foggy haze that is nearly impossible to buff out, no matter how much or how little is applied. It also didn't feel like it was leaving a lot of wax bonded to the paint. We'll see how long it lasts. This wax actually dulled my paint after the polish. While the polish took me maybe 1 hour to apply, this wax took me easily 2, due to the extra buffing the residue/haze requires.
In the end, the car still looks great- even had a guy walk by and ask me what year it was (he assumed it was new). When I told him it was a 98, he seemed surprised, commenting "Wow, the paint just looks gorgeous." I will definitly use the polish again, but the wax is one of the worst I've used so far- right down there with the turtle cleaner wax I used to use on my '83 Volvo.
