Just moved to houston... and my a4 is filthy as a result. Most of the road debris has been removed, however there are multiple very small spots (tar + bugs) that need to go.
can any one recomend a detailer?
will a clay bar git rid of these? I've got no experience with it?

Any safety solvent, IE, free of clorinated solvents such as xylene, tolulene etc are fine. If not, get some keosene, spray on, let soak until you see the tar breaking and starting to run off, then respray and let set for another 3 to 5 minutes. Wipe with a towel that is wetted with the solvent and then wash with your car wash solution. Follow up by recoating with your wax/sealant since the solvent will remove it.
A quick removal for small spots of tar, grease is naptha, (lighter fluid), but soak with it and watch to see it disolve, don't go rubbing as this will scratch the clear.
When done, the spots removed, wash and reapply your wax/sealant.
As far as bodyshops, look for those who are trained and certified, IE, I-CAR logo with rating.
Detailers, look for one that is a trained and or certified, Trusted Professional Detailer. Hard to find as most detailers are not trained and are not very knowledgable regarding today's paint, interiors or trim. Just got a bucket and some soap and started selling themselves as a "detailer".

http://www.autoint.com</a
