I just got a Santorin Blue, Ecru/Onyx 2001 A4 1.8T and need to buy some new washing/detailing materials, starting with the basics:

soap
wash mitt
chamois
interior cleaners

Been recommended to get a generic lambswool wash mitt from the local auto parts stores an any synthetic chamois.

Clairparts sells Audi OEM Wash Mitts and a Chamois, and of course, theres always turtlewax brand stuff locally, and then theres www.carcareonline.com

Most of itseems to be the same stuff, but if anyone has prefereces, I'd love to hear them!

Search the forums (at least the A6 forum)...

Chamois are bad, use 100% cotton towels.

Go to www.autosupermart.com for good prices and "real" online ordering. Clairparts is only good for Audi parts.

Turtle Wax is bad ****. I use it on my 15 year old pickup truck. For my car I use Blitz Grand 1.

Anyway, do some searching on this forum and the A6 forum, read some stuff on carecaronline.com and post some more specific questions as they come up.
