Is 3M IHG stronger then Meguiars Deep Crystal Cleaner (step 1 of the 3 step process)? As in will the 3M IHG remove more gunk from my paint then the meguiars cleaner?
My paint looks nice from a distance, but when i run my hand over the surface i feel little burrs ( as if there are little flecks of salt glued to the paint every so often)
Also, where is there a good online retailer for this sort of stuff?

you should look at some of their other products.... sounds like you may need the swirl mark remover or one of the rubbing compounds.

My parents owned the car for 7 years and it hardly saw wax until i took over ownership a year ago...
so there is lots of work to be done....luckily i love detailing :)
i think with the work ive done so far the car looks pretty good, but want to do everything i can, and so far the strongest cleaner ive used is meguiars deep crystal (which i think is pretty wimpy stuff after reading up on the stuff you guys use)
i figure ill get 3m IHG for the entire car, and use a clay bar on trouble spots like the hood and roof...then finish it up with 1 grand or zymol or something of that quality

what you have to do and then do it to the rest of the car.
You may be tempted to get a buffer, I'd have one but I'm too scared to learn how to use it on my car.

i have heard these things can do bad things some of the time, I wouldn't know when or when not to use it...maybe I should do some reading on it

It removes all my paints small imperfections, then I top it with One Grand Blitz Wax.

http://www.carcareonline.com/imp_hand_glaze_1010x.html</a

Use the the meguiars paint cleaner, then use it again. Follow up with a polish then a wax.
the alternative is to try a clay bar
