Thanks to all who have had input.

I took a look at Tim's hood, the GMG guys did get back to me, waiting to hear if they fixed the mold.

SGI was actually the most pro-active, so I may go that route and fly to Germany to bring the hood back. More soon.

KER responded, but from the sounds of things some of their quality is suspect. Anyone have any more input?

AM Cars limited has all the pieces, but not a sport hood. The A1/A2 pieces look pretty good from what I can see. Anyone have any input? Pricing seems in line and their shipping quote was reasonableish.

Thanks,
Carter

If you do that, mind getting two? I'll pay ya :)

BTW, mind shooting me an email about prices and such?

However, after careful inspection decided to go with another company due to quality issues.

Im very happy with all of my bits. I got the hood used but it was never prepped / painted so I was the one doing the finish work to it. I am really happy with the fit and finish on the car.

The AM bumpers I had imported as part of a group buy about 4 years ago, I just got around to installing them for last years UrQ25 event. I have no complaints with their quality or fitment either. The pieces have plenty of wiggle room for you to trim and finish to size. The finish and prep work is the major factor in being happy with any of the parts, however when you get into multi-piece bonded parts you have other concerns.

I'll have to ship it on the plane, so it will cost a bit in oversized packaging.

More details coming soon.

Just curious about the fitment, etc. What did you do for the vents?

There was a hood posted either on here or audi fans dot com ( Do a Search ). They had a sport q hood carbon on both the top and underskin frame. They were asking $ 1350.... They had pics . Ahhh Found the ad..

Description
Made b fiber images they are built very well. This one has carbon fiber under frame as well instead of the black fiberglass. This is a $200 option. I would prefer it to be picked up. You want to install and use this hood you MUST use race style hood pins. Most prefer to use these anyways on cf hoods. Weighs only 15bs! Serious inquiries only please.

I can't access my gallery account from work, but if you look at page 8 of my motorgeek thread you see a good shot of the hood.

I can add another link from home later<ul><li><a href="http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4569&amp;postdays=0&amp;postorder=asc&amp;star t=175">http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4569&amp;postdays=0&amp;postorder=asc&amp;star t=175</a</li></ul>
