Any chance there is a new source of the flat version?

Actually, the ONLY difference between the flat face and sloped Cibie headlights is the lens. The flat headlights were only made by Cibie. The sloped lens headlights were made by either Hella or Cibie and parts are NOT compatible between the two. You can sort of make the lens work between them, but that is it. The new flat lenses have been NLA for quite a while, so if you have a good set, you better put some chip guard on them...
Generally, the Cibie headlights are preferred over the Hella headlights, as they have lenses with less fluting, stainless clamps vs. plated for the lenses and a bit more readily available. The one thing about the latest Hella headlights (not all of them) is the provision for the electric beam length adjusters. These were only offered on the '90+ RR in Germany.

Edited:
I may have a spare set or two of brackets, not lights, that I would sell.
The plastic brackets work, but aren't as strong, so it is easier to break off the tabs.

He can probably source you a whole used set of lights and flat lenses.

People have mounted Cibie's using bunches of spacers etc. I used the brackets though.

I'm using the plastic brackets on my UrQ right now. It's three plastic pieces per light vs. the later one metal piece. All came off an early CGT in a junkyard in Germany when I was last there in 2003.

Not one to argue with ones in the know but..... I have put Hella lamps on Cibie bodies and vice versa with no ill effects. Most, if not all internals are compatible. SS clamps are available and fit both lamps. I have run across at least 5 different versions of the lamp housings and most changes center around the adjustment mechanisms. 3 arm, 4 arm, 2 arm and knob and of course the electric ones. Any one need spare motors, let me know.

Yes, IME some of the stuff "kind of" fits like lenses, and you can crimp the stainless clamps from Cibies to fit Hellas to replace the plated steel clamps(not a bad idea IMO),but the only stuff that fits right, adjusts properly and gives the right output is when all the components match. I'm not sure how to get reflectors to swap properly... YMMV. If it works, cool...

By "lamps" I mean the housings. The only structural diff I find on the lenses is the gasket depth. IIRC the Cibie channel is deeper than the Hella making the swap tough if you don'thave the right gaskets. Just pulled Hella reflectors and the mounts mic out at the same distance etc as the Cibie. Broke a mount in the process, boy are the old one brittle, but usually spreading open the mount points on the reflector, (there are 3 relief cuts on each mount point)adding some warmth and some lube and you can lever them out to swap in new ones. (If you can remove the adjusters from the back of the lamp, then removing the reflectors with the adjusters attached make the work a bit easier on the workbench. 1 mount is in a fixed point to the lamp body, 2 are adjustable and one is unattached)Checked a set of NOS reflectors I have and the measure properly to fit either Hella or Cibie lamps. I believe left and right reflectors are also swappable as long as you remember to swap the corner mounts as needed. Each reflector has 1 (of 4)open mount spaces depending on the intended side of use and will need to be changed accordingly. The corner fill plates seem the same as well.
