Anyone have any more info, or know of where any are available besides 2B? They're a little rich for my wallet right now.

Thanks,
Carter

Been lusting after one, but won't be biting that bullet anytime soon.

I was in touch with SGI. They will ship a hood to NY for around 200$, total would be in the 1,000$ range. Waiting to hear from KER. GMG is 2 week lead time but sounds like there may be some fitment issues with the mold, and it's about 700$ more (but cf instead of fg). Just some quick updates.

I think project 924 4.2V8 is done. I can't justify the cost of building the car (you can buy a sorted 944 Turbo track car for 5,000$ - I would have more into the car just to get the engine turning!). Coupe GT is about 1 month away from heart transplant to 2.3 20V, some lightening going on. 85 GT is coming home to decide what to do. Planning on getting back to the track this year. I was a hair's width away from plunking down a large amount of money for an S8 a few months ago, but instead have decided to hold off and see what the market does (job security et al).

I'm looking forward to Limerock in a few months!
It'll be nice to get back on the track. Just finished polishing the last R8 15x7 yesterday, feeling the need for speed....

Ker also offers a kevlar hood I believe.

AVOID DIALYNX like the plague.

think you'll make it to WG2 this year (august)?

Depends on when it falls, and if I have a job. You know, pesky things like that.

I miss the Glen though. Last two trips really soured my taste, but I want to go back.

that def sucked! Was a real expensive "drive" to WG for me that year.

last year was a bit too exciting for me, as I gave poor wendy a foot wash w/ antifreeze from teh 4000 when the <1 yr old heater core spit its end tank. Turned out I was overheating the 'ol girl and didn't quite realize it cuz all I had was the $hitty OEM gauge. Ended up playing musical cars the 2nd day after I couldn't keep the 4k from overheating and blowing its coolant out the expansion tank :(

And who needs a job... credit cards my friend! :)

Let's see - first bad time was the rained out sessions, second was Uncle Bill black flagging us for touching the rumble strips (I got yanked 3 times for "driving over my head" in the instructor group), then there was the whole rain/mist debacle, when I got black flagged for "driving too fast in the conditions". No kidding. I thought it was a race track....

I got black flagged the following year b/c I put 2 off leaving the bus stop (went in too hot and had to do some creative braking/steering to get out w/o losing it.

Scared the piss outta myself, and then got black flagged the next lap, then told to sit the last 5 min of the session out to "cool off."

I still chuckle at our conversation w/ bill over the 2 on the rumble strip... lol. I do miss him at the track. The new lady doesn't quite have his character, but she is still funny.

I think that one was my fault....

I came in too hot or turned in too early, one of the two, into turn one. Instead of fighting it, you just said to track out onto the rumbles (not over them, just onto them). That apparently was a no-no, even though they let the higher-up groups get away with it.

It is that kinda stuff that always bothered me about WG. They were almost too anal, but given how dangerous the track can be if the wrong person is out there, ya can't knock 'em sometimes.
