View Full Version : How hard it it to convert a Coupe GT into a Ur-Q? Anyone tried? boxerfan 02-07-2009, 07:41 AM a4kquattro 02-07-2009, 08:42 AM Katman 02-07-2009, 10:39 AM Martin *started* to do the conversion, but never finished. You need a donor coupe and donor 4kq (or uraq, I suppose) for the quattro floorpan. Now go look at the link for what else you need to do... :-) It can be done, but.. Easier (and probably less expensive) just to get a urq.

Here may be why he didn't finish..

ralleyquattro 02-09-2009, 06:51 AM to be honest you might as well get the real thing from Germany or just buy an Ur. If you are going to do it may I suggest going right for the kill and taking 12" out of the middle. That is mostly whey I abandoned my original project. That and the fact I have bought couple of Ur-q since starting it. UrScubed 02-09-2009, 04:58 PM boxerfan 02-11-2009, 05:26 AM Eric from Competition Motors in Bellville. I know he needed to cut the florsand swap them at a miniumum and I suspected a substantial amount of work for the rear suspension as well. I'll send him Frank's link. Thanks guys. ralleyquattro 02-11-2009, 08:20 AM He would be much better off fixing what is needed on the Ur-q using parts from the Coupe (inner fenders, trunk lid, hood etc. etc). boxerfan 02-12-2009, 12:42 PM |
