Dont know the full story behind it, but its a Iron Block. 79.5mm Bore. Geared Cams. Sport Quattro Replacement engine.
The Crate was sent to Bruno and the Engine is supposedly a Lehmann Rebuilt Sport Quattro replacement motor.
So do I pull the 3b out of my car to use this motor instead while the Aluminum engine gets redone? I just torqued down the head to the 3B.

Arpy,
Its not for sale, I just bought it for 4000.
The engine apparently had been forsale for awhile and many people and companies passed on it.
I think the fact that its an iron block and could easily be replicated by using an AAN or 3B as a base to get the same thing kinda make people wonder why spending 4000 on an engine makes sense. Another reason is that this engine (I believe) uses a bore of 79.5mm like a sport quattro whereas everthing else Audi made uses a bore of 81mm so Even an AAN or 3B ECU would not work with this engine.
Its pretty much a Sport Quattro replacement engine suitable for someone with a Sport Quattro and or running Standalone EFI. Even with standalone, a 3B or AAN engine would be cheaper and bigger. So its really only useful to Sport Quattro owners or someone like me who needs the Sport Quattro oilpan and such to fit into the rally car.
So I'd gladly pay 4000 for it, while others will probably just as soon buy a AAN for 2500 bucks and get the turbos and manifolds as well as the Wireharness and ECU and be done with it.

Hi James, If you run across another sport engine iron or aluminum, I would pay you a finder fee, I need one for my gray ride, and if its in Europe it would keep me occupied for the next two years.

but I think since its designed to replace a KW engine, It'll be just like the KW I had.
Same pistons, etc.
The only interesting thing I'd like to verify is the geared cams rather than chained cams.
Also the block just like the KW does not have the check valve on the side of the block.
The conrods and crank are probably the same as the KW block.

This is Trans Am engine. All rally engines were with sigle piece intake manifold. This one has two piece. Also exhaust manifold looks like Trans Am type.

I am constantly searching for ex works parts and spares and have yet to come across any. Other than the struts that were for sale a month or so ago, I have come up empty handed.
