Maybe they wanted to keep the riff-raff away while the upscale folk test-drove?

Apparently, this was Feb 25th in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
Sigh.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Audi Winter Test Drive

I looked at the pictures, and you can't *really* tell who was piloting that urq.

In one picture, I'd almost swear it was Buffum, but hard to say for sure.

I'm also wondering if it's the car the Sprogls had a hand in restoring? At least, "I think" I heard that they restored a car to that paint scheme..

I'm looking through the archives of his shop to catch a picture of it. He did own one of Michele's cars. I don't remember which vintage though.

I kinda thought Hanlon bought that car last year though. Have to ask him.

Damn, wish I would have know about that too! That's right across the bridge for me. And why Niagara on the Lake? That seems to quaint and certainly not on the beaten path.

Did a bit of internet sleuthing - apparently it was an event to herald the introduction of Clean TDI engines into the Audi Canada lineup - so they invited a big bunch of lame-o auto journalists (note to Solo - "lame-o" = no invitation for you) out to NotL and took them through a pylon course with the newer cars, and as passengers in the Rally urQ piloted by John Buffum. One journo talks about how "gee, cool" the rally car was....with it's 200 hp and all. Um....yeah. It made the Niagara Falls Review - I'm sure that at least...oh...10 subscribers may own an Audi.
Well, that sucked. Good to see that Audi is still showing off an urQ, though...huh?
Meh.

Maybe Motortrend needs to send their guy to a seminar on How to work a camera?

But there just aren't that many people on the peninsula. You've got what St Catherines and Ft Erie?

Apparently Test-Fest is now held there in the fall, so I guess they're building on that. NotL is not about residents - it's all tourists. I was at the Shaw Fesitval last November, and there was this group of high school kids (read: Theatre Geeks) blathering in a southern accent joking about our money/etc. One kept rambling on about how another had forced her to try maple syrup - made me want to...well...

Release the attack beaver!!!!

Since I have no desire to drive there to drink 4 or 5 glasses of $15 a glass wine. I just throw them out.

NOtL is just a place I drive by on the way to TO

very picturesque, as is most of the Niagara wine country. If you ever find yourself there, stop at Picard's Peanuts (next door to the hated NotL McDonalds) - I worked on that site and stop by every time I'm there to check the condition of "my" parking lot.
We should set up drive through wine country this summer.
Cheers!
