View Full Version : Anyone tried the Blau parts hood shock conversion?

I'm ordering some other stuff, and wouldn't mind eliminating the hood prop.

It looks like this kit uses 2 shocks, whereas the factory solution was only 1, correct?

I was planning to replicate the factory solution, but if this is cheaper and easier, well....<ul><li><a href="http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=B2A1000">Blau kit link</a></li></ul>

Easy install too. FWIW I believe they only sell the black ones now, I got one of the last sets in the brushed aluminum finish.

More expensive definitely, but from what I can tell from the pics the OE opens the hood further. I'm 6' 2", and I've been known to bang my head on the underside of the hood- not fun ;-(

I can post the parts list if anyone's interested- at least theoretically, they're all still available.
