I put both left and right tie rods in a vice - but only the inner end spins. I liquid wrench drip soaked the treads on one tie rod for 3 or 4 days. I tried a little bit of heat, but there are rubber components so I didn't apply much heat.
Last month someone was selling 4k tie rods bragging that both ends turn freely - so I'm getting the impression this is a common problem.
I thought I'd loosen-em up in the vise - should I ever get the car aligned it will make it easy for the technician.
Does anyone understand this? If it wasn't for that for sale advertisement then I'd think it was becuase mine are a little bent - but the bend is near inner side where it does turn.
