If not head lights must go out or at list radiator grille and this will giv you access to this two levers/arms holding hood down. 85urq 10-28-2005, 06:35 PM Part avail at the dealer. Very easy to install. Leave the old unit in place until you are ready to replace it with a new one. Its as easy as unscrewing the lever from the sidewall in the drivers side footwell, and using a bunch of tape to connect the old cable to the new one end-for-end, and fish it through the firewall. In the front of the car where the radiator support is, you will see 5, or 6 white plastic clips, these are the cable guides, just take a nut driver (I don't remember what size) to loosen the cable from both of the hood release pin sockets. The cable will slide right out of the guides. The new cable goes right in, and you dont have to worry much about adjusting tension on the the sockets. I'd remove the grille, and the headlight surrounds for the first few times you attemp to open the hood with the new cable, in case something wasn't right. That way you can still open the hood....and try again. If you located the hood pin release sockets, you can open the hood by moving the arm (which the cable runs through) to the direction of the drivers side of the car, and each one will pop the hood open. 85urq 10-28-2005, 07:00 PM From what I remember, it was less than 20 bucks.... quattrotto 11-05-2005, 01:34 PM |
