most guys look scrared when I whip out my army green metal box that would look more fitting as wwII helmet. CIS? we cant test earlier than obd1. TAP tuned? oh we cant test that, we could hook up a scan tool but it wont read stock settings. as i explain almost reactionary now, thats its chipped, probably tuned for a wg spring, I just need to know if it has spark. blah blah blah. the excuses dont stop, and the car doesnt start, and thats all that matters.
well if anyone knows of a good business, or even just a guy that does quality MAC-11 repair, let me know. This ecu belongs in my car. figuratively.

It's hard to functionally test an ECU, as to 'test' it, you basically need to simulate it's operatin environment. In other words, all the correct sensor singals ond outputs have to be present.
For example, how do you simulate the hall, rpm and timing sensors on the bench?
That being said, perhaps the easiest way to test your ECU would be to install it on somone else's 'known good' car, and see what happens.

A friend of mine has one, but I'm not sure what it's got in it. I'm not sure what year it is.

He said it would be fine to try swapping in your ECU, althugh he didn't know what was in his car. I don't even know what year it is, so I asked him, and he'll let me know.
