Ok, I picked up my 99 2.8 qts yesterday. The drive home was about 45 minutes of mostly traffic, but some open highway driving. When I got off of the highway I noticed a horrible noise. When I take my foot off of the accelarator a high pitch whinning noise starts. The noise slowly gets softer, and stops when my foot is on the accelarator. Every time I lift my foot off, it starts again. This has now happened twice, both times after short (>5miles) highway trips. I plan on going back to the dealership Monday!<p>Anybody else experience this problem? I am thinking maybe something with Quattro, because it does not happen if I put the car into neutral?? Also, there is a slight burnning rubber sent when I exit the car, but that is probably just because of the new tires.<p>Thanks a bunch<br>Stu Koch 99 2.8qts

Stu,<p>It is not the tires. They do not burn. I doubt that you have been getting rubber from standing starts so you tires will not be making a burnt rubber smell. I have not heard the noises you have listed.<p>Good luck<p>Reg Short<br>98.5 2.8QMS
