Greetings!
I just bought an 85urq, and the clutch is real stiff, more so than the clutch on my older VWs.
A quick look in the engine bay, it appears to be power assisted.
I'm going to attempt to bleed it, and change out the brake fluid in the resivor.
Any other places to look, or things to do???

was dragging on the transmission input shaft. My car was 1984 it didn't have any power assist on the clutch it did have some over center springs under the dash the relieved some pressure once you had it down to the floor. I didn't fix mine till my firewall ripped so don't neglect it.

I don't mind shelling out some clams for a clutch job if need be. I got the car for a mere $5k.
And it needs some tlc, but what a ride!!!
