Hey guys, Some of you guys will remember that i was selling my car, well i decided to keep it,
so stop emailing me =] anyway i now am going nuts on the car in hopes of having the fastest urquattro in america. I decided that instead of rigging the cis system to handle 400 hp, I would go for a stand alone Haltech F9 EFI system. To my knowledge, no one has attempted this. utilizing
20 Valve 5 cyl Fuel injector inserts, I can now use any size electronic fuel injectors in place of the stock CIS injectors. Also, by removing the Air Conditioning, I placed a 5000s turbo intercooler in front of the radiator. (5000s intercooler is maybe twice the size of stock ur quat intercooler)I plumbed the new intercooler with 2" PVC that i heat tested to 200 degrees. (yeah i know its ghetto but its only temporary, mandrel bent aluminum is in the works) I also custom built a 1/2 copper fuel rail for the new electronic injectors. So far i spent about 200 $ on the whole setup. if you guys are interested in the project, I can post pictures and updates as i move along on project "S1" To come: HKS blowoff valve, Haltech F9A EFI computer, T4 turbo, fuel cell, electric diff lock servos and a whole slew of other expensive crap.

Aftermarket programable fuel injection won't make more power, but it will allow you take advantage of other modifications, if you set it up right.

Not to break your bubble, but are you trying to get 400 hp out of a stock or even tweaked WX engine? Not gonna happen... Not with that exhaust manifold, head, cam, 5kt intercooler, etc. I have heard of 10Vts getting up to 350 Hp with massive modification (tubular header, EFI, BIG intercooler, large turbo, cam, rods, pistons, reworked head, etc.).

As to the 5kt intercooler, it won't support much over 200 hp. The '91 200q single-pass is better, but won't get you where you want to go. If you want a good setup that will fit with some modification and support over 300 hp, get a 944 t intercooler. You will need to move the alternator to the other side of the block, do some cut and paste on the end tanks, and make some custom mounts, but it will fit in the stock location.

You have a long journey ahead of you. Good luck!

Yeah, I know, Most of the stuff i have on it now is coming off later. i expect to get a custom sparco intercooler and mandrel bent 2 1\2 inch aluminum intake plumbing along with a T3\T4 or larger turbo. I am also going to get a tubular exhaust hedder and custom tubular intake manifold i also want to switch the head over from a post 1988 5000 with larger valves and a race port and polish, but like i said, this cars starting to hurt my wallet

Look at this site: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Audi20V_Kruemmer/files/
(direct link below)

In the folder named "Header" you can find little info on a 10v urquattro that made 486 HP in the dyno. There are some other fun stuff on the site to !!. You can also see that he has mounted a EFI system on the engine, i think its the finnish Hestec system !?

I believe Haltech cannot run direct ignition on a 5 cylinder, if that is a concern of yours. My research has indicated that the LinkPlus can do both full sequential injection and direct ignition (5 coils). My order for one is backordered, but it's in.

Link USA
