View Full Version : Looking for S2...are they hard to find here in the states? NickS 10-01-2001, 05:59 AM Jim 10-01-2001, 10:59 AM However, several people have "created" their own. Read the story of Brandon Hull's ersatz S2 on www.20v.org for a very good and very clear explanation. Jim 93S4 NickS 10-01-2001, 12:59 PM Did Audi ever import the coupe in a similar form? Jim 10-01-2001, 01:41 PM Yes. 1990-1991 saw the coupe quattro in the US with a 5cylinder normally aspirated 20v engine. About 164 hp. Not bad, but no S-car. Also quite expensive at the time, that is part of why they are fairly rare. AWDrift 10-02-2001, 12:15 AM one of my friends has one, he still has the original window sticker! $30K some dollars, expensive but not too fast. Jim 10-02-2001, 12:31 PM Of course, compared to the '83 Turbo Quattro which sold for $40,000 here with only 160hp stock, the price looks more reasonable all of a sudden :-) Jim 93S4 AWDrift 10-03-2001, 03:19 PM $40,000 wow i had no idea that it was that high. i was aiming for something in the 25-30 range when mine was new in 83 Žob 10-07-2001, 01:24 PM but only by people who converted. By yourself a 91 Coupe Q and do the conversion nick. You could have a sweet lil car. The conversion and labor probably run you about 30,000$. You would have a VERY fast little car then, and also very unique. absolutcq20v 10-09-2001, 12:36 PM ....at the shop the other day. Hmmm, engine swap..coming right up! PS - i think i got my hesitation problem straightened out ; fattened my mix via the MAF adjustment screw and she runs smooth and steady :D ..maybe i'll pass emmisions this time around :P |
